Spring Tulip Wreath

Just a Sliver: Spring Tulip WreathI know, I know…this isn’t a recipe! But it kind of is. I’ve had MAJOR cabin fever..I’m dying for Spring. While it looks like everyone around the country/world is getting a nice taste of Spring weather, New England seems like an endless frozen tundra. So I needed something to remind me that while it feels impossible, Spring will come. I found this idea on Life Love Larson (a great blog you should check out!) and decided it was worth a shot. She wasn’t kidding when she said it was easy!

The most time-consuming part of this project is cutting the stems apart from the bouquet. This project was inexpensive – the grapevine wreath was $4.99 and the mini tulip bouquets were on sale at Michael’s for $1.99 each. And you know there are always great Michael’s coupons so the I got the wreath for under $3 and a discount on the ribbon too. You’ll need 10 bunches of mini tulips, any color scheme you like. I did 3 dark purple bunches, 3 ivory bunches, and 4 multi-purple bunches.SONY DSC

Cut each stem from each bouquet (there will be three blossoms on each stem) – keep the leaves on each stem. This is easier with garden sheers but I only had kitchen scissors and was able to make it work.Just a Sliver: Spring Tulip Wreath

Start placing stems in grapevine wreath, all in the same direction. You won’t need any glue, just stick the stems into the wreath and they will stay just fine.Just a Sliver: Spring Tulip Wreath

Continue to fill in wreath until completely full. Use a thick ribbon of your choice to hang the wreath.Just a Sliver: Spring Tulip Wreath

And voila! There you have a lovely Spring Tulip Wreath that will brighten up any front door.
