If you follow me on Instagram, you might have seen that I was in Mexico last weekend! I was given an opportunity through work to visit the Cancun area. We stayed in Playa del Carmen at the Paradisus and visited a couple of other properties in Cancun as well. On Saturday we went on a Jungle Tour excursion [there are several vendors that do similar excursions] – you hop in these mini two person boats, speed through the mangroves, and out to the reef for 40 minutes of snorkeling. The reefs were incredible! Although I really don’t love when the fish are swimming right by me [me the whole time: “please don’t touch me, please don’t touch me..eeeee”] there were some absolutely amazing fish! I wish I had a go pro or under water camera for that adventure. At this reef there are also pieces of the underwater museum [much smaller than the main museum but still a few pieces] so you’re swimming over these incredible statues on the bottom of the sea. Really neat and definitely worth it. In the pictures below – the light sand beach and bright blue water was in Cancun while the long boardwalk through the mangroves to the beach was in Playa del Carmen. The resort was great – staff was really friendly, service was great, grounds were impeccable, and food was delicious. Such a fun weekend where I was lucky enough to meet many wonderful new people and see a different part of Mexico. Gracias!
